Observing and measuring the signals from the real world represents a significant expansion of human senses and perceptions without which interactive change and the use of nature would not have been possible.
Therefore, the measurement and analysis of data from the real world and artificial systems is of significant importance to any scientific research.
The Data Analytics and AI Unit is oriented towards the research, development and implementation of complex computational methods for data modelling and discovering knowledge from data. The work is strongly interdisciplinary and the results represent advances both in the technical sciences and domains of applications.
The Data Analytics and AI Unit aims to develop techniques and approaches capable of tackling the data and information overload, a common problem for most scientific disciplines and contemporary technology environments. Techniques and approaches within the Unit fall into the domains of signal processing, machine learning, and data mining with modern programming paradigms, as well as knowledge acquisition and representation technologies.
