As we approach the end of the first year of infrastructure works under the O-ZIP project in Zagreb, it's time to take a step back and assess the progress made in a year full of challenges, especially weather-related setbacks. Nonetheless, progress on the construction site is both evident and promising.

The RBI Capital Project Worth 72m EUR Goes On

The Government of the Republic of Croatia has adopted the proposal issued by the Ministry of Science and Education (MSE) on increasing the allocation for the project 'Open Scientific Infrastructural Platforms for Innovative Applications in the Economy and Society' (O-ZIP), the capital structural project of the Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI). The financing of the 72 million euro worth project is foreseen within the European Commission's Operational Program 'Competitiveness and Cohesion' for the financial period 2014-2020 (OPCC).

The structural project "Open scientific infrastructural platforms for innovative applications in the economy and society" (O-ZIP) is a key part of the development strategy of Zagreb's Rudjer Boskovic Institute (RBI) that will make this leading Croatian research institution a 21st century institute, it was said at a project presentation on Friday.

RBI Signs Contract for the implementation of construction works within O-ZIP project

The Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI) signed a contract with Lavčević d.d. and Lavčević inženjering d.o.o. for the implementation of construction works within the framework of the structural project Open Scientific Infrastructure Platform for Innovative Applications in Economy and Society (O-ZIP).

New Transmission Electron Microscope at RBI

As part of the project 'Open Scientific Infrastructure Platforms for Innovative Applications in Economy and Society' (O- ZIP), the Ruđer Bošković Institute (IRB) in Zagreb has acquired and put into operation an impressive transmission electron microscope, the JEM -1400 Flash. This high-tech device worth EUR 600,000.00 is the latest achievement in the field of scientific research and equipment in the Republic of Croatia.

RBI Director visits Construction Site of Martinska Research Station

Dr David M. Smith, the Director of the Ruđer Bošković Institute (IRB), and Dr Ivanka Jerić, Deputy Director and Project Coordinator for O- ZIP, today visited the construction site of the Martinska Research Station, accompanied by the Project Construction Manager, Mr Damir Ivšić, and representatives of the team of consultants led by Mr Nino Kovačić.

Renovation of the Martinska Research Station is on the Right Track

Significant progress has been made in the renovation of the Martinska Research Station, a key component of the O-ZIP project to strengthen capacity and promote sustainable development and management of the Adriatic karst coastal area, in line with both national legislation and EU directives.

Započeli radovi na Istraživačkoj postaji na Martinskoj

Nakon završetka postupka javne nabave koji je proveden u razdoblju od srpnja 2021. do prosinca 2021. god. Institut Ruđer Bošković (IRB) je s tvrtkom Reliance d.o.o. potpisao ugovor o izvođenju građevinskih radova na lokaciji Martinska. Radovi obuhvaćaju rekonstrukciju, dogradnju i nadogradnju kompleksa Zgrada E1.

New Era for Stronger Industry Partnerships at the Ruđer Bošković Institute

The Minister of Regional Development and European Union Funds, Nataša Tramišak, today visited the Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI) and met with the Institute's Director General, Dr David M. Smith. The aim of Minister Tramišak's visit was to acknowledge the successful implementation of European projects at the RBI, in particular the major structural project O- ZIP, worth 72 million euros. The Minister was also introduced to research and development projects funded by the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) and carried out by the Institute in collaboration with companies to develop new products and technologies, as well as the Scientific Centre of Excellence for Marine Bioprospecting (BioProCro).

Ključne investicije vrijedne šezdeset milijardi kuna jamac su napretka Hrvatske u idućih šest godina kako piše Večernji list. Uz projekt revitalizacije središta Zagreba, izgradnje kampusa Rimac automobila, investicije u 5G mrežu, izgradnju pruga i cesta, te ulaganja u obnovljive izvore energije, autori su, na listi ovih kapitalnih investicija istaknuli i kapitalni projekt Instituta Ruđer Bošković (IRB) 'Otvorene znanstvene infrastrukturne platforme za inovativne primjene u gospodarstvu i društvu' (O-ZIP).

Povijesni trenutak za IRB: potpisan ugovor za strukturni projekt O-ZIP

Epohalni događaj za Institut Ruđer Bošković (IRB) obilježen je danas potpisivanjem ugovora vrijednog 72 milijuna eura za obnovu znanstvene infrastrukture IRB-a te nabavku sofisticirane znanstvene opreme. To je prvo značajno ulaganje u ovaj najveći znanstveni institut u Republici Hrvatskoj (RH) te najveće ulaganje u znanstvenu infrastrukturu u posljednja tri desetljeća u Hrvatskoj.
